Title: Music video- Seven Days- Don't Give Up
|
Synopsis:
When we go out and film, we're going to attempt to film a dramatic/tragic narrative, to fit the mood of the music. We aiming to achieve in filming the feeling of loneliness and despair, thus using amplification within our project to match both music and video. We will make this vision a reality by only featuring one character in the video, this will better illustrate the struggle that the person is going through and will have a greater impact on the audience. At the end of the video the main character will get through the rough time and see happiness. |
Key Genre Conventions:
Amplification: By using slow, low action footage, we're matching the slow depressive, but ultimately hopeful feel of the music to be reflected in our video. The chorus it an upbeat part of the song which will help us illustrate the determination the main character.
Contradiction: In our video the main theme is sadness however when the chorus comes in the video turns a bit happier. |

Blog 8- Star theory Richard Dyer
Dyer
believes artists are constructed through artificial images such as advertising,
films, magazine and music.
Dyer says the the consumers prefer a "real" star who aren't manufactured.
A real artist can use it as their selling point.
Another one of Dyers beliefs within his Star Theory is that artists become trendsetters.

Band Profile
07-seven days is the potential band that we might choose as it would be simple to lip sync to. This song falls into the rock genre.
This is easy to lip sync to because the pace of their songs isn't too fast and it is also pretty easy to make a related video based on the lyrics.
These are pictures of the band from their unsigned.com profile.
Unfortunately as this band is very small and mostly unknown they dont have any videos that are available to share.
There bio reads Seven Days formed Feb. 2009. Started with a lead singer (Jeff) and guitarist (Jeremy). Sharing song writing ideas, realising that their style and ideas were a match and ideas started flowing. Later added a bass player (Matt) and drummer (Steve). "River of Sorrow" their first studio cut has been met with great reviews. Seven Days is currently working on a demo album. Although just getting started they are very excited to see the positive response from fans."

looking for an artist
When looking for an artist there are a number of things we have to consider, these include Copyright issues, genre and theme of the song.
Copyright- this is if a piece of music is owned by a record company you must first obtain permission to use the song. If we used a song without permission we could get sued for a lot of money, which we don't have.
We will not use certain genres of of music such as rap and country.
Rap- rap is hard to lip sync to as the lyrics are often fast paced and regularly contain explicit material.
Country music- Country music is hard to make a video for a country track due to the area in which we live in. There is no empty farm landscapes for example.
The track we went for is by a dand called Seven days, their photographs are below.
